A look at early African government, religion & economy. Fans (and critics) of James C. Scott or David Graeber should really read this book. So should people interested in adapting to new tech!
Very interesting long read! Sadly the book is hard to get in the DACH region, but I will try to hunt down a used copy. In the meantime, there's the modern classic "Africa is not a Continent" for an introduction, and the excellent "African History of Africa" waiting on my shelf of shame:)
I think I had to order it thru interlibrary loan here in Maryland, it ended up coming from out of state. But it really was worth the read, so I hope you're able to get a copy (and read it, of course, but no shame I have my own #goals shelf too haha)
I wish I could have taken history from you 70 years ago. I am glad I can do it now.
One of the most valuable of many worthy parts of your writing is that you often tell how your mind has been changed by something you read.
π€ππ₯° Thank you so much for the kind words! Made my night!
