Archeologist in 3250 digs up snail tongs (https://www.amazon.com/HIC-Escargot-Snail-Stainless-6-Inches/dp/B0000505IY/ref=asc_df_B0000505IY?tag=bngsmtphsnus-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=80539344341703&hvnetw=s&hvqmt=e&hvbmt=be&hvdev=c&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=&hvtargid=pla-4584138871961944&psc=1)

And declaims "WTF?"

There could be a whole class of fiction based on guessing the use of current artifacts in 3250...

Thank you for the post!

hehe yeah, we have a lot of really weird specialty items where the use is not immediately obvious. Sometimes I see stuff and even I can't figure out what it is, even with help from the internet!

Well said! It's like some people being completely shocked at the idea of trepanning and the type "backward barbarians" that did it and I just want to ask: "Have you ever suffered a migraine?" Because I can see myself, in lieu of proper medication, letting someone drill a hole in my skull if that would make the pain less.

Honestly, as far as I know we still use trepanation for brain swelling due to head trauma in some cases, just like the ancients did... they just call it craniotomy to differentiate because these days they do imaging first, use sharper tools, and try to put the bone back when they're done.

Classic Iceberg!

There seems to be some glitch where the fungicidal priest/plumber comparison is repeated.

Whups! Not sure how that happened, fixing it now, thank you for the heads up! 💚

Off topic. There might be some glitch since I received this article on email but I think I subscribed only for Obsidian news letter.
